CHANEL NAIL COLOUR IN 'EXCEPTION' (639)

Exception (639) is one of two, new, limited edition nail colours released alongside Chanel's new Rouge Allure Gloss range.  The other is a strawberry red called Expression (635) [reviewed here].  There is another limited edition shade, called Intention (a pearlescent beige), which unfortunately (or fortunately for my wallet) isn't released here in Australia.
Colour & Finish
Exception is described as a red brown.  It has a cream finish.
Coverage, Consistency & Application
I'm happy to report that like Expression, this beauty is also one-coat wonder!  Woohoo!  (So, I took advantage of its amazing powers, by only applying one coat on my nails in this post).  Application is a breeze.  The consistency is just right (neither too thick or too thin) and it 'self-levels' well and colour is applied evenly.  Dry time is quick, too. ^_^

All Chanel nail polishes are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.

Packaging
Chanel nail polishes come with a plastic, square cap which other than for aesthetic purposes, you can use to rest your finger tip on as you apply on the nail polish.
The applicator brush is thin, which is great for precise application and also suits all nail shapes and sizes as big, flat, square edged brushes may not work for those with more of a curved-shape at the cuticle ends and/or have smaller, narrower nails.
Comparison Swatches
For reference, I have medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone and photographs were taken indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe.  Exception is unique in my collection, but below are a couple of Tom Ford nail polishes I've swatched against Exception which are in the same red brown family - i.e. the much deeper, cream finished Tom Ford Bitter Bitch (applied in three coats as it was hard to get even!) and the shiny, shimmery metallic Minx (applied in 2-3 coats).
Overall
I'd say Exception is a must-have out of the two, new limited editions released in Australia due to its uniqueness and excellent one-coat wonder magic.  It's so apt for autumn/winter and slightly edgy as it leans more towards the delicious, rich, chocolate brown (particularly in natural light) than the typical red wine and burgundy colours.

Availability
Available now in Australia for a limited time.

Hope this was helpful. :)

Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
