Masters golf tournement a tribute to White males in society

Jamie Logan
White males congregated in Georgia for the spectacle called the Masters. This golf tournament  is a tribute to White rule in the South over the years with the main prize of winning this tourney being the ugly fashion choice of a green jacket . Observing the favorite corporate pastime and devotion to a game set up and exclusively for wealthy people one an truly see and understand the continuing inequalities of this country with the continued flowing of money into the passions and desires of rich people. Golf is a sport only  they can play often and thrive and its continued support and backing by corporations with little following is no accident. The business community and owned print media and cable monopolistic operations want to highlight this game as a showcase of rich achievement as if this sport actually was available to everyone in their  youth. Anyway golf best represents corporate achievement as the sons that look like Jordan Spieth have much more opportunities for successful achievement  in a playing field that is crucially and significantly limited in scope.
The sight of Jordan Spieth and a bunch of old white men in a country club with ugly jackets not only represents the worse of Southern sports enthusiasm and culture but of America in general. There is a reason Masters were generally all white and why this tournament remains so despite the mere presence of a Once in a generation Tiger Woods character. People who follow this infelicitous sport prefer the old structure that always strives for the palpable goal of perpetuating this sports importance in society.  Golfs over importance  is a fabricated desire of the rich for some insane reason and likely because they use it as a tool to reinforce their power structure and dominance of control of the game and life. Nothing best examples White male rule and monopoly of power than these four major golf tournaments every year the media shoves down television viewership starting with the Masters
